How to get in touch with our team
Outdoor Woodland Learning (OWL) uses woodland as a safe setting where young people have the potential to achieve and space to learn new skills for life.
OWL is based on the principles of personalised learning and delivers element of Every Child Matters. OWL is inspirational and challenging and develops positive relationships with group members and supports the development of individuals self esteem. Young people who may have experienced bullying have been referred to improve their confidence in being part of a group and taking physical activity.
Groundwork’s experience has demonstrated that those who take part in OWL learn new skills and gain in confidence as individuals and as a group. This view is supported by those who have worked with Groundwork Wakefield, including Connect 3, Wakefield TYSS, Pinderfields Hospital School, Play England and Featherstone Technology College.
