Schools
Groundwork works with schools to deliver
innovative environmental education, transform school grounds and
re-engage disaffected young people into education.
Our work with schoolchildren in school links
to the national curriculum and helps to illustrate how our
individual actions can make a difference to the local and global
environment. Teaching young people about their impact
on the planet is the first step to changing that behaviour for the
better.
We also work with schools to support ‘at
risk’ young people, providing them with positive experiences and
building the skills that will allow them to move forwards with
education, employment or training.
Some of our key initiatives include:
- Vocational Training/Horticulture
Training
- Green Check: Delivering Sustainable
Schools
- Outdoor Woodland Learning
(OWL)
- RHS Teacher Training
- Youth Development

This was a wonderful experience for the children –
some had not been to the woods before
