Introduction to Green Roofs + Practical Demonstration

We've given our ever-popular Introduction to Green Roofs course a twist by adding a hands on workshop to the afternoon.

Green roofs play a significant role in sustainable and green construction. Moreover, because they are often highly visible, they signal intent for sustainable building and can give a very positive impression about the occupants' green credentials.

The Green Roof Centre's Manager Jeff Sorrill will deliver the morning presentation, discussing the variety of benefits green roofs offer.

In the afternoon, delegates visit the Manor Lodge Visitor Centre - which features a wildflower roof - and take part in a session focussed on the logistics of green roof installation, including common mistakes, money saving tips, worked through examples and a site walk around. Delegates are encouraged to get their hands dirty, and create their own mini green roof to take home!

Course Objectives:

  • To learn from an installer's perspective on green roofs
  • To share best practise in green roof design and construction
  • To inform and demystify the terms and technologies of green and vegetated roofs
  • To provide delegates with sufficient information on cost benefits for implementing green roofs into future developments

Places cost £150 per delegate. Discounts are available for group bookings.
