Groundwork runs two Foundation Learning courses in Leeds: Woodland Management & Horticulture and Creative Media & Enterprise. These courses provide young people aged 16-18 the opportunity to gain new skills and hands-on experience on a range of projects, while also working towards qualifications in Maths and English.
A group of our learners worked with the Youth Service on a project to develop the extensive grounds at their LAZER (Learning Action Zone Education and Recreation) Centre in west Leeds. This exciting project made use of their newly acquired skills and allowed them to take ownership of a real project from start to finish.
