Communities

Mother and child

We work with community groups to help them improve both where they live and their quality of life.  This includes helping them to have meaningful involvement in the development of their local area.

Our teams of specialists are experienced in getting people to speak out, taking on board their views and translating these into positive changes.  We also develop projects which bring together people from different backgrounds and age groups – increasing a sense of community. We also help people to adopt healthier lifestyles by becoming more active or being involved in food growing.

Examples of the services we offer to communities across the region include:

  • Community engagement and consultation
  • Neighbourhood management
  • Community capacity building, support establishing groups and developing individuals through volunteering
  • Estate masterplanning and open space development
  • Initiatives aimed at increasing community cohesion, ‘respect’, community safety and reductions in anti-social behaviour
