How to get in touch with our team
We work with community groups to
help them improve both where they live and their quality of
life. This includes helping them to have meaningful
involvement in the development of their local area.
Our teams of specialists are experienced
in getting people to speak out, taking on board their views and
translating these into positive changes. We also develop
projects which bring together people from different backgrounds and
age groups – increasing a sense of community. We also help people
to adopt healthier lifestyles by becoming more active or being
involved in food growing.
Examples of the services we offer to
communities across the region include:
Location: Marlborough Street Estate, Central Leeds Residents of the Marlborough Street estate can now relax as well as get involved in food growing and gardening activities on their doorstep thanks to the development of two brand new garden areas on land once dominated by concrete paving slabs.
Location: Calder Homes Park, Hebden Bridge A valued facility, this skate park had become a victim of its own success due to wear and tear and overcrowding. It was therefore altered to cater for the large number of young people wanting to use the facility, and for different skateboarding abilities.
Location: Tynwald Woods Tynwald Woods was transformed from being an overgrown, unusable space to an urban oasis which can be enjoyed by all members of the community.
Location: Middleton Park Circus The project aimed to develop an area of unnatractive open space in the centre of Middleton to benefit local residents, visitors and businesses
Location: Leeds Groundwork worked with People Matters to deliver a three-year programme of green volunteering opportunities for young people in Leeds and Bradford.
