Twenty staff from popular Leeds stations Radio Aire and Magic 828 recently undertook a very different kind of working day...
Leaving the studio and office behind, they donned their wellies to take part in a community clear-up on the John O Gaunts estate in Rothwell. Led by Groundwork staff, they concentrated their efforts on the Pencil Park Garden at the Rose Lund Centre, working hard to clear overgrown vegetation and plant a range of fruit trees, herbs and shrubs. They also restored and renewed several pathways – all much needed improvements.
It wasn’t all hard work though and the group also had the opportunity to take park in a series of games along with local residents, including a couple of very competitive rounds of tug-of-war!
