Igen Learner Awards 2011 LeedsAdrian Huntley Moyo celebrates a double victory!

Our Foundation Learning team are glowing with pride following the annual igen Learner Celebration event held recently in Leeds.

Three of our learners beat off competition from over 1000 young people from eleven training providers across Leeds. Damien Reid was awarded 'Team Player of the Year', Jordan Harris 'Apprentice of the Year' and Adrian Huntley Moyo (pictured) 'Attendee of the Year'... and it just kept getting better as the grand title of Learner of the Year 2011 was announced - again, our very own Adrian Huntley Moyo!

Adrian is an exceptional young man whose enthusiasm, team spirit and fabulous sense of humour belies the fact that the has had to deal with the challenges of mild cerebral palsy and deafness, not to mention the further challenges that British Sign Language is his second sign language having grown up in Africa. Adrian's achievement of five qualifications at Groundwork is testimony to his outstanding effot, the commitment of our tutors, and not to mention to the fantastic team of interpreters from DeafSTART without whom this would definitely not have been possible.

Congratulations to Adrian and all our winning learners!
