Some serious pumpkin carving...
A Leeds community have been revelling in some half-term Halloween celebrations as part of a programme of work to improve their local area and get people working and socialising together.
The event was organised by Groundwork for residents of the Waterloos, Ingrams and Owlcotes in Pudsey, north west Leeds - AKA the 'Wateringcotes'.
Undeterred by some less than pleasant autumnal weather, people young and old came along and took part in pumpkin carving, facepainting, crafts and games. Youth Service staff were also in attendance creating some very realistic fake gory cuts!
West North West Homes Leeds were also on hand to help out with consultation with the residents and served up some very much appreciated homemade soup and rolls, traditional parkin and biccies!
The Wateringcotes project aims to involve local people in ongoing changes to their area including physical improvements for everyone to enjoy, which will also hopefully help reduce anti-social behaviour.
Groundwork is working in partnership with West North West Homes Leeds, Leeds City Council and West Yorkshire Police.
