Thursday 21st April saw residents of the Carltons Estate in Little London involved in their very own 'mini recycling event'.
The event, organised by Groundwork and North West North Homes Leeds (WNWHL), aimed to make residents more aware of what they can do with their litter, waste, and other items.
Groundwork, WNWHL and local PCSOs joined staff and children from Little London Primary School and local residents to take part in the following activities:
The day was deemed a success with all concerned learning a little bit more about the benefits of recycling and reusing items.
The very original and eyecatching poster for the event (pictured above) was designed by children from Little London Primary School. A class of around 30 pupils worked with Little London Arts and Groundwork to produce the poster made from recycled materials. Every pupil contributed in some way to the final piece of work, whether it was creating the background, creating the houses and buildings, the flowers, or the text.
The design was used for both a poster and flyer and distributed to all residents in the immediate area.
The original artwork will be proudly displayed at the school for all to see.
