The aim of this project was to celebrate the life and works of poet Philip Larkin, and educate residents and tourists about his life and his works.
Working with The Philip Larkin Society, Groundwork successfully managed to create a historic trail that tourists, and residents, may follow to see Philip Larkin's Hull. An intimate portrait of Larkin is created by visiting the places he frequented both alone and in the company of others.
Groundwork also collaborated with United Creatives to design, fabricate and install a complete set of 25 type-led geocoded signs, as part of the trail.
‘The Hermit of Hull has been a difficult hero’ wrote Ben Hoyle in The Times ‘but she [Libby Goodacre] has done an admirable job.’
